New from Spain

Hello,

I'm new in this forum, I'm from Spain, I've got a Rover 25 2.0 D, L series engine, this engine is bulletproof, now my mother has inherited my car.

Now I'm trying to find a Rover 25 vi (1.8 145hp K series engine), in Spain was on sale from 1999 to 2001. this is my childhood dream .

I love the 200/25/ ZR series, it has the perfect size, not too big like the hatchback nowadays, and I love the design, the perfect balance between sportiness and elegance.

Thanks for the wellcome, I live near Bilbao in Sondika.

I want to find the Rover 25 vi exactly, I know it will be difficult because that disappeared when the MG brand returned to be sold.

I think MG / ROVER thought that having two equal sports car should not be profitable, so they developed the MG ZR 160 and killed the rover 25vi.

Rover 25vi ( VVC ) is a very rare car. Only seen one in the last two years that was in a local scrapyard. Nice interior. Even rarer on the Iberian Peninsular. Some 25vi were sold in France and were left hand drive.

Good luck with your search.

My son has a Rover 200vi.

Apparently ... in a parallel universe MGJohn drives .........A.......

Another option could be buy a MG ZR 160 and transform it into 25 VI

What do you think about this option?

The car is a 25 Vi 2001, it has the gasket multilayer installed, the PRRT installed and only 63.000 kms
this car has been parked in the street more time than running, only need new paint, but the first thing
that I'm gonna change is the gearshift knob, I want to change it with the square one.

You have a very very rare car there David. Do you now own it.? If so lucky you..

I am a great admirer of Rover's little lightweight K-Series, particularly in VVC and Turbocharged form.

I want to replace the gearshift knob that looks like the streetwise knob I think, with the "square classic".
I would like to recover the red light that goes where the start key (I don't know how to say in english).

The car has only 63.000kms the multilayer gasket installed and the PRRT, and the clutch is new.

This afternoon I serviced the oil and filter, I've used Castrol Magnatec 10w 40.

The car has been parked a lot of time in the street so the paint is worn

The car has the steering wheel audio control, but it doesn't have radio, I would like to install a radio without CD or cassette only with USB,
but I want to maintain the steering wheel audio control operative.
What radio trade or model can I buy to maintain this steering control operative?

I think you mean the illuminated ignition ring. It was one of the first things MGR removed from the 25 to cut costs. It was a shame they deleted it as it was a nice touch. It can be retrofitted but requires the whole ignition barrel to be replaced and then, if you want all locks to match, the boot lock and drivers door lock to be replaced as well.
