It's a MK1.5. The rubber bung of the wiring loom is tiger sealed on so i'm guessing it was played about with before.

I have the joint at the gear box end bought and can be put in if needs be, but it is the rubber bush at the gear stick end that is causing the problem.

I never checked it, but I picked up a real sensor at descent money, but in order to drop the fuel tank the straps will need replaced as they are corroded like ****, so will need grinded off.

Yea I have a boost gauge and it is boosting around 1.9 bar at the minute!

I'm coming home from London for the Xmas break, but i'm heading back on the 5th Jan, so I could drop my car at yours at the 4th if that is ok? I am coming back home on the 20th Jan for the weekend so I could pick the car up on the 21st and sort you out for whatever work is completed at that stage. I will give you a buzz over the break (Y)

Basically my car is being a bit of a **** at the minute, the issues:
    - The locking is ******. I changed the locking mechanisms but when I go to lock the car with the fob the lights flash and the alarm is set, but the doors and boot won't lock. The fuse located under the steering wheel might be away but I couldn't seem to locate it.
    - Bush is away in the gear linkage - will need to source a replacement set up as I know you can't replace the bush, if you could point me in the right direction.
    - Fuel sensor in the tank needs replaced - I have the part already here. The straps holding up the tank are corroded like **** and will need the grinder to take them off, and replacements will need to be sourced.
    - The car is over boosting, i don't know if it is a boost leak or if the clutch is on the way out.
    - I've no service history with the motor and she's about 110k miles at the minute, so will want the timing belt and water pump replaced to keep the mind at ease.

So, what do you think? lol

Ahh so you've heard from Matt? He's been awfully quiet on the forum as of late. Does he have his VNT all together and working? I'd be interested to see how his results differ to Kris' home grown approach - the work put into that 400 is really quite incredible!

Not too bad thanks, i'm interested to see how your VNT control performs to be honest! I would like a few more ponies, but as my car is a daily driver i can't afford to take it off the road for (years?!) as you've done.
