    The oil seepage is quite normal and you'll get this on most cars around joints on Egr's and inter cooler connections, to stop or hold it back for any length of time you would have to remove and thoroughly clean the entire system internally.

    Hi Rob yes you can get uprated springs/dampers for the rear but this will give you a harder ride, not much difference, would be something like a ZT, as you know its not that hard of a job to do.

    This place would be your best bet, I've just replaced all my brakes and handbrake system, not the easiest of jobs to do, in fact the handbrake is a cow of a job to do, putting mine in for the MOT next week, should pass on brakes but will have see, things are fine new engine is running fine and the clutch is holding its own, just hoping i will get a result on the MOT as i am going down to my mums for few days (Cornwall)

    My MOT is not due until sept but i will be away on holiday so i am doing it next week, Steve

    Hi Rob well the cars back on the road and running sweet, last Friday ( on my own) i started to remove the engine and by Friday evening was ready for the refit on Saturday.

    Terry come up Saturday morning with his mate Colin and all three of us set about the refit, we had finished by 5, not bad going, i had done most of the work Friday with swapping things over from the old engine, refitted the new slave cylinder/clutch/flywheel and gearbox, just few things before we started the refit.

    The only thing that let us down was the new master cylinder, we fitted this and found it to be faulty, so i refitted the old one and bled the system, at the moment it's fine, hoping it will last untill they send me a replacement cylinder.

    TBH mate i was knackered when we finished, but on Sunday i still had things to do, all the brakes as the car had been sat on the drive for over six weeks, now all sorted.

    Have you had any more problems with your pads? Steve

    Hi Rob enjoying the new car, as soon as the ZT's back on the road, I'm giving that plastic tub to my daughter.

    I did tell you about Mintex pads, anyway Lockheed pads are very good, i use them sometimes, Terry is coming up on the 12th to help with the car, i am starting next Thursday by removing the engine ect, so with a bit of luck should have the car up and running by Sunday.

    Hi Rob yes i am keeping her, i went to Liverpool yesterday to look at a engine, still in car runs well, collecting on Tues, not doing the job untill 1st week in May, off work for a week, unless i get all the parts i need before then? just ordered a new slave cylinder, will be changing slave/master cylinders ect, if i do the job before May i will let you know.

    Did you find out what was sounding at the front wheel? let me know? Steve

    Hi there Rob. Yes I remember the post, think I'd been having the problem of the door open light coming on at speed. I'd had a look at the bonnet switch thinking it was the cause of it and whilst I was "fiddling" the rubber cover came off. Managed to fit it back after removing the grille to access the switch - it's just clipped in - use a small screwdriver from underneath to release - refitted the rubber and then clipped it back in. The problem I'd had was solved by adjusting the bump stops.

    Now as your's hasn't got a rubber on part of the problem you are having may well be caused by water ingress - switch is rather susceptible to this. The switches are available from rimmers see this link: not really expensive - I doubt a breaker will charge much less for a used one.

My car is a dark blue Rover 75 CDT - I've had it since new in December 2002 and bought it for 14500 in this year. I have had very little go wrong with t he vehicle apart from an ABS sensor and injector problems, that I put down to using veggie oil that gummed them up. She runs very well and I can achieve 50 mpg on a run with an average mpg of town and urban of about 44 mpg. To date she has covered 67000 miles so I'm hoping for a few more miles out of her. Just replaced two tyres - michelin...
