It looks like the MG3 is having a facelift to make it closer to the ZS SUV:

In the past, we got a new set of MG3 spy photos, the new models on the front style of a larger change, compared to the cash models look more full.

Appearance, the front grille from the previous V-type narrow design, changed to a larger area of the black honeycomb style. Under the grid of the shape has also been redesigned, with a strong sports atmosphere. Headlight style changes smaller, adding a lens. In the rear, the rear door of the opening position of the handle closer, while the rear bumper style has also been further adjusted.

Interior aspects of the new MG3 is mainly facelift more style of the three-spoke steering wheel, and the style of the air conditioning knob was adjusted, and other aspects of the basic consistent with the cash.

Power, the new MG3 is expected to carry the 1.3L and 1.5L is still equipped with two kinds of displacement of the engine , the transmission system has 5 gear manual gearbox and AMT gearbox optional. (Text / car home Liu Dong)

There is no mention in the above article of any 1.0T engine for this car which is worrying.

Edit: It seems that the DRL are now built in to the headlight cluster and those little MG plastic things on the bulb reflector in the current model's headlights are now gone.

Cheers..

Technically the car has already had a facelift with the Euro facelift it received to be launches here and then also launched with the same nose in China.

So if this is a facelift 3 then it will have had a second facelift with only effectively minor front and possibly rear changes.

If it is a facelift then I am not sure I like it, but then again in camo it's often difficult to see how it will look until we see actual pictures without the camo.

It also would be pointless releasing even a minor refreshed car with the exact same engines, it is crying out for a turbo simple as.

As good as the 3 is, I can't see a facelift version keeping it going for another 3-5 years and sales will likely start to suffer without better engines etc.

Of course this could be a test mule and nothing to do with an MG3, it could be a test for the new engine going in the small suv for all we know or it could indeed be a test mule of a revised 3.

Then again it must be a revised 3, if you look at the boot the rear boot handle is gone and there is a grab point along the bumper line for lifting the boot. I must admit I never liked cars with a handle recessed into the boot lid like the 3 but seemed pretty common on a number of smaller cars.

Looks very odd without a rear wiper on it too, hope they don't do away with the rear wiper like they did with the 6.

Probably halogen, Skodas and many others use projectors as they
don't glare as much as reflectors, plus less chance of some burke
ill fitting the bulb like every other car on the road at night.
