What mods have you done to your MG3? (Exterior/Interior)

I'm interested to see what mods anyone has done to their MG3. I'm guessing there isn't much you can do to them, but may be wrong? Any pics?

Has anyone 'upgraded' the interior? Anyone fitted a different tail pipe? (I think the OEM one looks a bit 'weedy') Has anyone fitted their own graphics etc etc!

A friend of mine owns an MG3 in yellow. He had the car supplied with a matt black vinyl wrap to the boonnet. Not keen personally, but had the roof been down to match it'd look better.

John Woods Motorcare in Chester are an MG specialist that sells a variety of mods for the MG3 including a performance kit comprising of upgraded leads, air filter and stainless exhaust. They sell various cosmetic mods too.

One for summer: 2004 MG TF 135 in Firefrost
One for winter: 2002 MG ZS 120+in Solar Red

The John Woods site was certainly worth a look! Thanks

I've fitted the following, all recommended:

1. Rubber mats, but with red edging (not available from MG). Perfect fit, half the price of MG rubber mats:
MG-3 (2014 onwards) Heavy Duty Premium Rubber Car Mats [R] | eBay

2. Key cover. I like the look and it protects the key if you drop it. Fits well. Make an offer - I got mine for 4.21
Blue Silicone Protective Shell Flip Key Case Cover Holder For MG 2011-2014 MG3 | eBay

3. Boot load liner:
Genuine MG3 Boot / Load Liner | eBay

4. Boot tidy. Secures using velcro tape (already fitted/sewn on to the boot tidy). I purchased some self adhesive velcro tape from ebay and put a couple of strips on the load liner above (after first cleaning with solvent), such that the boot tidy is along the left side of the boot, aligned front to rear

5. Blind spot mirrors. Seem to be proper mirror glass, not plastic. Haven't fitted them yet (i was worried about kerbing the alloys) but will do:
2Pcs BLIND SPOT ADJUSTABLE MIRROR REVERSING TOWING DRIVING CAR VAN SELF ADHESIVE | eBay

6. Tax Disc Holder, for my parking permit. I just had to...

7. MG3 Sill Plates (on order) - come recommended by another owner (scroll down for full picures):
MG3 Sill Plates Standard [JWMCAJS_MG3SillStandard] - 20.79 : John Woods Motorcare, Xpart Cheshire & North Wales Wholesale and AutoService Centre #MGFamily

8. Slip Mats (available in red also):
MG3 Slip Mats (Blue) [JWMC_MG3_Mats_Blue] - 9.99 : John Woods Motorcare, Xpart Cheshire & North Wales Wholesale and AutoService Centre #MGFamily

9. Rain deflectors (not ordered yet, but probably will):
MG3 Wing Mirror Rain Deflectors (Pair) [JWMCAJS_MG3_WingMirror] - 8.95 : John Woods Motorcare, Xpart Cheshire & North Wales Wholesale and AutoService Centre #MGFamily

Note: Items 7, 8 and 9 are available from both the following (they're tied up in some way) - **It's worth comparing prices, including postage, as some items may be offered at a sale price etc**

MG & AMC Parts

10. Lambskin seat covers. Highly recommended for leather seats in particular, fit very well (there's 3 straps at the front, not two as shown in the picture). A matching rear cover is also available (not purchased) but may be a little fiddly due to the rear seat belt if carrying passengers. Stayed put very well over the last 3 months (with the odd re-tuck under the back rest at times), though I've since fitted 2 extra straps using cotton webbing sewn to the rear of the cover which go underneath the seat and around the seat bar:

11. Also:
(a) An MG spare tyre and jack kit (not keen on the foam idea).
https://www.ukmgparts.com/product/mg...t-mg3-30092045

(b) Uprated headlight bulbs (but get B&G to check headlamp alignment is on max height first). I got mine for 14 on offer - shop around:
Osram Night Breaker UNLIMITED Performance Bulbs - H4 472 Twin Pack
(Definitely wouldn't pay thirty notes for a set, though Eurocarparts often have sale codes most weekends (30% usually, including this weekend) - excellent place for oil at a sensible price - go for one of the big brands such as Shell. Free delivery too, if you don't fancy a drive over to Stevenage)

(c) MG Mud Flaps, fitted prior to delivery
https://www.ukmgparts.com/product/mg...et-of-4-bg3443

(d) I also have Carousel Alloy wheels fitted, which isn't an option offered by MG on the Style - B&G sorted this for me
(I like the Carousel better, and I suspect cheaper I easier to repair in the event of damage)

(e) Dash Mat set:
https://www.ukmgparts.com/product/mg...t-mg3-30083386

And lastly, but definitely not least, meet "MG":
https://www.ukmgparts.com/product/mg...ie-white-mm048
Included in the deal with the new car

I won't get into polish, wax, car shampoo, grit guards for buckets......

HTH
Brian

Just ordered the Magnecor leads for the MG3 MG3 MAGNECOR HT IGNITION LEAD SET, 1.5 VTECH, PRE 2016, BLUE 8 mm, 40628, NEW | eBay

Most owners report smoother running and slightly improved performance. Hoping to get them fitted when my car goes for its second service next week.

Polybear are the mirror rain deflectors any good? Do they actually work seems like a bit of a gimmick without trying them?

I would like some window deflectors but I doubt anyone makes them yet for the 3. Heko springs to mind, I quite like cars with them on.
