Why are AUS getting 1.8 K facelift + DCT?

I don't get it... They're launching in Australia, with a better facelift 6 than we got (17" alloys for a start), including a dual clutch transmission and using the N series again.

I wonder why exactly we don't have the 6 anymore

The MG6 was never a big seller in this country. SAIC probably decided that it was uneconomic to make the engine Euro6 compliant or too expensive to re-engineer it to take a different engine.

Ironically the engine we did get also wasn't made EURO6 compliant either. They probably didn't see the demand for two engines in the facelift version considering the short expected production run it had.

A shame. If we had got the car on sale in Australia I would have bought one but I suspect few others would have done.

Out of interest, would it have stood a chance of getting Euro6 with an N?

I don't get why they didn't just drop the 1.5 turbo in it with manual and auto versions.

Unfortunately the MG6 was not really been a big seller here as I believe in Austrailia we hold the honor of having the most amount of car brands in one market place.
Ironically we only have 24 million people so not sure how that works.
I did see recently there were still a few brand new 2014 MG6 cars being advertised for around 14k AUD on places like gumtree.
They appeared to be farmed out to car yards etc to move them on so it will be interesting to see how they will compete with the Kias and Hyundais of the world which are offering an awful lot for the money.
Kia is now doing a 7 year warranty over here which is getting a few people in..
