Well. After several attempts at figuring things out, I'm back. My 'Change of Password' Email ended up in my Spam folder. It took a while to figure that one out as well.

You don't need to be logged in to read the forum. Only contribute

I guess the reset does at least seem to be bringing out the lurkers.

Yes, unfortunately not the best way to go about it. Can only apologise on behalf of the owners who chose this way.

I'm sure you will be far from the only one who doesn't see the email and therefore hasn't got the new password.

Sorry

Have prompted the site owners to give answers to the questions raised as they haven't responded to this request from earlier. Will keep raising it in the admin forums, but not much else we can do.

How pathetic?!

I've had to resort to setting up another user account just to raise an issue! Yes it's 'Mean & Green' posting as 'Mean & Green 2'

I have not received any emails regarding this password process and I cannot get any joy from the 'forgotten password' link. It says my email is not recognised. Maybe my email details are not up to date, but I've been a member for 10 years. It is possible I may not have updated it.

Anyway having to resort to this is rediculous! Why are admin trying to fix a problem that doesn't exist? There is no way I'm going to remember a password that has to meet these requirements as well as having to be continulally changed. Neither do I want the in convienece of having to do so.

It's a forum, no personal details are held on here at all! Not even anyone's real name is held here, no damaging personal info can be used here. In over 10 years on forums and using the same password on each and every one in that time, I've never ever had an account hacked. I like my password because only I know it and I know for sure it could never be guessed. I'm 100% certain of that. I don't want to keep changing my password especially a one which has to meet such strict requirements.

I can log onto my online banking app on my phone with a 5 digit PIN number which I never have to change. If that's good enough for my banking then the old password system was more than good enough for a car forum.

This is currently a topic of conversation on the FB groups and from what I've read there, these new measures have stopped quite a lot of people logging in or stopped them even trying to log in. This is all just helping to kill an already dying forum.

This is too much, this is just too much. Nobody could get into my account before, now it looks like as much as a challenge for me.

I have a password, a simple but secure password, it's something that means something to me, no-one else and it's been secure for years.

Given that my browser keeps forgetting passwords, and I'm not going to install software just to use this site, this website has become unusable, regardless of whether I otherwise like the site. And my enthusiasm for the site itself is becoming a liability because it's becoming easier to use facebook, and I hate facebook.

There is never ever going to be genuine security with this in place.

Mean & Green the email address held is mdb***@gmail.com (* replacing letters so we don't post it in full). Is this one you still have access to?

Sorry I can't reply to your PM as this user account doesn't appear to have full PM functionality? I've read your message, but can't reply to it.

Like Mean and Green and also like Simcor I've not been able to log in on my old information.

Colvert is my original forum name.

I've had to open another account in order to ask for help.

I had a case this afternoon and it took five attempts at sending the email before one finally got through.

Ok, Simon is back in, sending the password reminder email worked for that one. Trying to sort Michael out now.
