Updated again.

Not the most exciting figure but much better than the last 'pre new reg' month.

Hopefully the next one will be a big one!

This will probably dip under 200 for 2014 as Nov and Dec are quieter months and the two big months March and Sept are already in the figures.

Even so c. 2400 sales a year is very good news. Not quite what was predicted when the '6 was launched which was supposed to sell 2000 a year (without the MG3 sales) but good nonetheless.

More dealers has to be the key here though. Still no dealer in Bristol and therefore even the '3 is a rare sight.

Yes, I wonder if we could combine the two tables?

Just keep guessing sniffer, as long as you are somewhere in the middle you will win soon.

Nice 2014 but...

So what will MG UK be doing to continue the upward curve for 2015? Sales are still modest.

I must say that I didn't expect MG assembly to work at all. I was resigned to the fact it would have fallen over within two years but it didn't. Who deserves credit for that? The loyal MG supporter? MG marketing dept? SAIC for sticking with it?

I guess the sound bite here is that 2014 sales were more than all the previous years put together.

Sales from the past I have:

09 MGTF 374
10 MGTF 282
11 MG6 290 MGTF 70
12 MG6 772 MGTF 10
13 MG6 584
14 2326 Unknown

I assume the MG3 would be the bulk of sales for 2014.

Agreed, approx 90% of that figure will be MG3s. My concern is that without any new models because I don't think we'll see the MG5, MG GT, MG CS or facelift MG6 anytime soon, the sales could dip in 2015.

The peak of 2014 is due to the new MG3 but as with any new car the second full year of sales will probably drop off unless something significant happens like news engines, an estate version, etc.

This has happened to the MG6 and pretty much every other car that has been launched. Exceptions will be cars like the Jaguar XF that had a new tax-efficient 2.2 4-cylinder engine (instead of V6) and an estate version when it was facelifted.

Its good sales are modest but still rising. If the 3 and 6 get more efficient engines this year then I can see sales continuing to rise.

In New Zealand the main problem is no automatic transmissions. Kiwis rarely buy manual cars. Do MG cars in the UK have autos?

No auto gearbox yet, but it seems like both the MG3 and MG6 will be available here with the 1.4 DSG option later this year.

December 2014 and December 2013 both had the MG3 for sale, so should be a good barometer of the rest of the year, 120 sold last December against 128 this, so, does that mean that sales will remain stagnant for the rest of the year, or will they drop as a couple of thousand have been sold, and without more advertising and dealers, existing dealers will struggle.

I hope not, January will be a another good barometer, hopefully an increase will be seen.
