I too go to Ireland a lot with work. Dont think there would be much of a market for MG. Twice as many people live in London than the whole of Ireland. It always looks to me that Ford dominates over there. Every other car is a Focus

And Corollas even though we don't get them on the mainland anymore. Even Renault manage to sell the Fluence (saloon Megane) over there. Nice cars in fairness that's why I thought the Magnette would have done well. It is a small market but there is a lot of oddities there.

My last trip over to Dublin last year I saw a Scimitar GTE, Aston Martin DB6 and a MK2 Escort RS2000 just driving down to Naas. Also there still seem to be lots of little car dealerships around like in the UK 20 years ago

That's my impression too. They seem to have kept the smaller dealers like I said earlier. It's just a pity they kept the terrible roads too.

As an Irish friend said to me, in England you drive on the left of the road whereas in Ireland we drive on what's left of the road! (Though with the potholes I see these days in the UK it's probably the other way round now! )

I like a small saloon but there's few available here, only ones I can think of are the VW Jetta and Mazda 3. Ireland has a far wider range of these available. I like the look of the new Megane Saloon but alas that's another one we don't get here.
