1.4 to 1.8 vvc conversion???

Hi all, my 1.4 has finally given up hope n gone bang and is going to cost to much to repair so i was having a look and noticed i can get a 1.8 vvc pretty cheap, and wiring loom cheam along with ecu aswell but what will i need exactly to do the conversion will the 1.8 vvc drop straight in or not?

any help and advice is much appreciated

Done the conversion myself and I had to use:

pg1 gearbox
driveshafts
gear linkage
engine and gearbox mounts
Subframe.... or weld the mount onto the old sub frame like I did
engine
loom
ecu, 5as and fobs


If you are going to use the r65 gearbox thats already in the car then it's just a case of swapping engine, loom, ecu.

but don't expect the r65 to last very long.

I also upgraded the radiator and brakes.

is pg1 gearbox the 1 that comes with the vvc engine and what driveshafts will i need the ones of a 160bhp vvc 1.8 zr?
