Question 216 Si 110hp 1999 non starting

Hello guys.

I ask for a friend's wife.

She has a 216 110bhp 1999 (so Mk3): battery OK, lights on but suddenly very recently nothing to do to let the engine start. No noise at all, engine silent. And until the day before the car had worked fine.

Starter? Immobiliser?

Thanks to all, especially to @Roverlike.

If you have fully charged battery, and light do come on when you turn ignition key, but then nothing, not even to hear clicking noise or drop of voltage on dash lights, then most probably problem is in the starter.

It might be that you have bad contact on the starter, but it could also be that you will need to replace the starter. Happened to me twice, without any warning.

But, also, not to forget, check earth point to bulkhead and connection to battery, not to forget basics, before any attempt of purchase...
