Smile Diagnostic connector????

Anybody got any idea where the Diagnostic connecter or OBD Port is on a rover 216 Si 1998 R reg???? And is it the same as a freelander one?? Funny pyramid shape with top chopped off!!! lol

Not sure if the 200 is OBD2 - I don't think it is - but the diag connector may be in the smae places as a 25. On the 25 it's behind the center console facing the pedals ( to the right ).

I've had a look around there and can't see anything. the only thing i can see is a plug hanging behind the fuse box that looks like it should be plugged into the fusebox or something!!

The J1692 connector is just behind the center console in the drivers footwell.

In production many of the connectors were clipped into the metal bracket the wrong way around with the contacts facing the rear of the cigarette lighter.

Thanks Technozen, found it and yes it was clipped in the wrong way!!! got it now anyway!

diognostics plug

hi does any 1 no where i can find my diognostics plug on my rover 216 coupe 1994 rej

Pre-1995 the diagnostic connectors are located in the engine bay, have a look near the battery.

There should be a 3 pin round white connector for the engine ECU and a 3 pin round green connector for the 5AS alarm ECU.
