sorry I hadn't checked my email last night, those are exactly what I was after, I hate to be a pain but do you have one for the 200 as well? I would like to make sure what I've got in the haynes manual matches - from testing with a multimeter it would seem the switch works backwards to how I expect, eg haynes manual says left hand mirror up will make a connection between 2 pins but I have to push the switch down to see that connection made

those diagrams are excellent btw where do you get them from?

do you know of any pictures of the factory door wiring? I'd just like to see how the mirror cable is supposed to be routed through the door

no worry, I have routed it sensibly anyway

I did not need to take the front wing off in the end, I partly undid the wheel arch lining and pulled the plastic to one side so I could get my hand in and sort out the rubber grommet

still wondering about this switch though, looking at the diagrams you gave me I'm sure the ZR one is labelled wrong, passenger left seems to be connected up to the vertical motor for example, and the way it says in the haynes manual it seems like the switch will work backwards, in my head if I push the switch left the selected mirror should move to face more left, if I push the switch up it should move to face more upwards, but putting a multimeter on the switch seems to show the exact opposite of the required connections are made

this is funny

looking around the back of the fuse box to find a couple of wires I want to hook these up to, I noticed the passenger electric window fuse only has one wire coming out of it, it's always worked though!

The MGF/TF wing mirrors also come electrically heated but are also tiny in size.

Mirror switches should not be different. IIRC all switches from MGF/TF, R200/25/MG ZR are all the same.
Why you do not put everything on the table connect it all and see in live what is happening?

I don't have a 12v source in the house

but I will be wiring it into a terminal block or something first before soldering just to check, it could be the diagrams are labelled wrong, or it could be it just works opposite to how I think

how does your switch work? if you move it to the left does the mirror turn to face left etc?

My switch works as expected. When moved to left mirror is facing more left etc.
I even needed to change the switch and bough some from eBay and just swaped.

Mind not to buy LandRover ones as the are little bit different.

Your source of 12V can be car battery.

the one I got was from a ZR, though it did have one manual mirror and one electric so maybe it was a retrofit and they bought the wrong switch, but I don't think it matters, I'll wire it up like in the diagram and if it's wrong I'll swap some pins around until it works

all back together again, I think they're a nice addition, and so much better for adjusting the passenger mirror position!

Good work. Your 200 looks pretty much like mine ( especially now it had colour coded mirrors).
