Are you somewhere on the forum, or on the Internet, can find the image or video?
Rover 25 2004 year produced, square in the console.
Thanks.

You have to remove complete central console surrounding, in order to see screws on the other side of gaiter, which you cannot see from above. Gaiter has metal ring (23) inside lower part of it, which is pressed to plastic by additional metal frame (23,26) held in place by 2 screws (22,26).

Here is the picture of it:

So does my 52 plate Rover 25 (Mk1).

When Rover stopped fitting the R65 gearbox to the K series engines of 1.6 litres and below, and switched to the IB5, they also switched from a threaded gear knob to a push-fit type. This change took place from 1st April 2003 (from VIN/serial number 720773), and affected all models of 25 and ZR (including the 1.8 and diesel models, although they continued to use the same PG1 gearbox).

As the car detailed in Bluesers profile is a 2004 Rover 25, it will have a push-fit gear knob. It 'should' come off with a good firm upwards tug, but some of them can be a tight fit.
