Inlet/intake manifolds swap????

may seem a stupid question, i have a 1.4 mg zr with the plastic intake manifold however am toying with the idea of running a small shot of nitrous in a wet system but am worried about this through the plastic manifold. i have seen metal intakes on 1.8 k series engines but does them being vvc effect this....
Bottom line
can u run the metal intake manifold from a 1.8 vvc on a 1.4 easily??

or what it be easier to run bike carbs, however i feel this would be alot more complicated

any advice appreciated

If you want to run a vvc inlet manifold on a 1.4 then the ports in the head need to be machined as they don't line up correctly. Even then it doesn't really give any gains on a 1.4. Some people even argue it hinders performance.
As for running nitrous I'm afraid I can't really help with that.
As for the bike carbs, again as you said it would be complicated, and again I'm not sure if you would see any significant gains for the cost involved.
If you want a power increase as they say there is no replacement for displacement, so I'd be looking at either a 1.8 or vvc engine or even a whole car as they are getting cheap these days.
If I was you I'd prob try the nos on a standard setup and if it goes bang, then think about a bigger engine.

Unless you have other mods like breathing and exhaust, plus a 52mm
throttle body I wouldn't bother as the 1.4 has no more to give, if you
do all these mods plus what you want to do and a remap you will get
some gain but it would be cheaper to throw a 1.8 in the car.

I have a load of these mods on my 1.4 but it is off the road, in bits
and it needs a remap.
