You could always tiger seal them in if you're not bothered about removing them again

I had my set nicked the day after I'd wrapped them in carbon fibre vinyl. Was livid!

Went the scrap yard bought a new set it was cheaper than getting them off eBay but still shouldn't have to pay for them again.

I'd say 3M double sided tape them in. Not as permanent
as tiger seal but will make it hard enough for any opportunist to give up when they don't come straight out!!

uploaded on the go, with Tapatalk, because my lappy is too slow!

i was thinking of getting another set of the original black ones to use them as a template and making a few sets from fibreglass and then colour codeing them and inscribing my reg number on the front to make them hard to sell on

or maybe adding somesort of fixing points to the fiberglass ones so they can be bolted to the car instead of just clippig on

or even fiberglass them so they will be moulded into the front bumper

i'll have to come up with something cannot keep shelling out for surrounds. theiving scumbags.
On ebay i seen a guy who had around 15 sets for sale , and i looked at his feedback and all his feedback were from zr foglight surrounds must be making a fortune out of us at 40 a go.

You cant fix them in permanently though, because you need to remove them to get to the indicator bulbs right? I may be wrong I only have a Mk1...

Why do people seem to steal them off the MK2s but not the MK1s?

Because they're worth 40, 2 minutes to pinch...

And the Mk1 fog surrounds are worth like a 5er....

If people rob them people are less bothered as there are alot more Mk1s in scrap yards than Mk2s... And its also a lot less noticable if a Mk1 is missing a fog surround as the Mk2 is a lot bigger and surrounds both the fog and the indicator..

It might sound sad and you might laugh but whenever I park mine in a public place I just remove them and drop them in my car. You get some funny looks but at least you know they wont get pinched. Its only scum trying to make a quick buck at the end of the day.

I do the exact same. Specially near me at merryhill, park opposite your car and wait for the leeches to try and take them, then drive over the pikes...

ohh merry hill your not far from me then

been racking my brains all day , i havent got the fog lights fitted so thats no problem for me i can fibreglass around them , regarding the indicators as the ones on the car are screwed into the body behind the fog light cover i was thinking of replacing them with another set that screw on from the front of the surround if you see what i mean somthing like subaru impeza 1999 -2001 front indicators a then i could fibreglass the whole surround in or an idicator like the zr but ones that clips in not screw in

obviously i'll have to mod the existing foglight surronds to house new indicators

Anyone got a off template? Then can make a suitable cover

When I realised how poorly retained the light surrounds were I added a discreet black self-tapping screw though the surround into the bumper. They are now secure and should frustrate the thieving scrotes!...unless they've come armed with a screwdriver...

I did a Mk2 25 conversion to mine, three reasons, I like the Mk2 front end is
nicer to me, my car is a ROVER and no one steals the Mk2 25 surrounds.
