Picking up my Express MK2

Hey! Glad to say i will be picking up my MK2 ZR EXPRESS TD Saturday!

Got myself a Silver one, and i have a few things im planning to do to it.

To start with, i want to put a front splitter on it right away, now ive seen a few, but i am after one that sticks out all the way along the front, as appose to the ones that stick out at the left and the right.

Also i dont know how true it is, but i was told that the Centre Fascia where the radio goes in, there was some made somewhere that enabled the fitting of a Double Din Stereo? again if anybody knows anything about this it would be greatly appreciated!

I am after some 11 Spoke ZS 17" alloys, assuming they will fit directly onto a zr?

And i have been told that it has been de cated?
Does this mean it will fail the MOT? or use more fuel? improve performance? im not sure sure, thanks.

That one off ebay? Nice - it looked good on the web. Get it for a good price? Welcome to only one of 47 (Mk2) - and only one of 161 left on the road (Mk1 & Mk2 registered - Q4 2011 figures out!) http://howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicle/mg_zr_express_td

Happy with that, as few bits need tinking to it,

Neeed side skirts, and the little corner clips on the rear bumper which ive been told are very rare!

If you mean the Cadamuro/XPower one, you will have to find one first

I've never heard of such a thing ex-factory - any that exist will have been modified at a later date I would expect.

Direct fit - they are the same size, PCD and offset as the ZR 17" Straights

Happy with that,
I bet you are - the few Mk2s that I have seen on eBay have gone for top side of 1500, and I am sure that one would have done if the seller listed it correctly (and not simply titled as 'MG ZR' )

The bumper extensions come up periodically on eBay (but are often a bit pricey), and the Mk2 skirts too. There is a seller on eBay who has stock of genuine ready painted Mk2 skirts for about 67 a pair (including carriage) - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MG-ZR-SIDE...item20c4910651. He still lists silver as being available, but you would need to check as that listing has been running for a few years! He has no end caps (they are only fitted at the front on the Mk2), but rugbyrover have pairs of brand new genuine ones available at 28 all in (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MG-ZR-MARK...item2eb104a8e3) - note they are about 30 each from XPart!!!!

I cant wait!

Only downside is that it has 129,000 on the clock!

But she still has a lot of life left in her yet right?

had the clutch done, and timining belt done very recently.

Out of 3784 on the road in 2000 - that is quite a few that have ended up in the scrappers!

I would not necessarily take the 'Howmanyleft' figures too seriously - some are reasonably accurate, but others seem to be way off; for example, according to their database, there were no MG ZR 160s registered before 2004
