Rear Silencer

My rear silencer has gone, got a price for the parts to do it myself, just wondering what kind of figure I'd be looking at if I took it to an exhaust place?

When I changed my rear silencer on my R25 I paid around 80 with fitting included.
Check around for prices, because I don't it can be that much more expensive in the UK.

I'd definitely do it yourself. Mine went last year, got quotes around the 100+ mark (just to replace the back box) from rip off merchants Kwik Fit. Some local garages were around 50, which is quite reasonable. Did it myself for just the price of a back box - 31. The only problem was having to saw through the rusted bolts - that took a while!

I usually pay around 30-40 fitted. Shop around and watch out for the expensive large companies, especially the one mentioned above.

The bolts will undo easier when the exhaust is hot, also put some penetrating oil around the bolts/threads as well.

Should be dead easy.

Will I need exhaust paste or is it not needed with gasket type exhausts?

Just use the existing gaskets, should be ok.
