Few more bits today, popped down to DVA power to get a set of Cam seals and a rear crank seal.

Time to start the wiring, i'm moving the Emerald into the car so i will be making up a whole new wiring loom from sratch so ive stripped out the factory loom just to make sure the wiring info i have been sent is correct (which it is) Now just a case of making a list to order all the wires, muti-plugs, terminals etc

following this build with a genuine interest;
For what its worth the rear crank seal when fitted can be secured in place quite easily. Sure it has been raised before but I was advised to do this quick mod by Roger from sabre heads while he was converting a head to mechanical tappets for me.Suppose it just gives a better piece of mind.

Thanks, I seen that to on a few web sites DVA also said to drill a M6 hole at bottom of crank ladder to allow oil to drill away to help stop future leaks

Removed the 6 pins i needed from the small ECU connector and placed them in there new housings so i didnt have to cut the loom still on the car incase ever has to go back to standard for any reason. These are the out puts to the fuel pump, cooling fan, main relays etc switched from the Emerald

Pins from factory loom into plug.....

And joint into the male plug on my loom....

After a few more checks finally turned on the key, POWER....

And comms

Other than VHPD throttle bodies yes, ive left all the cam timing etc stock and will be going back to same rolling road with the same tuner later with a better exhaust manifold and de-cat to see what difference that makes

Not quite the update was hoping for.....

All ran up fine no problems but after around 35-40mins @ fast idle it devolved a small oil leak from front right and rear left corners. Ive checked block and head which are still dead flat, liner heights are still all dead on 4thou and i know everything was 100% clean etc so can only think its a faulty "N" Series gasket.

Gutted for ya JDQ
Please update when you've determined what caused the the oil leak ie gasket as I planned on the N series gasket for the other engine but may just stick to a tried and tested type.

Where did you source your slicks from John? I've been having trouble tracking down part worn 17's.
