Unhappy zr woe

i know, a common problem, these central locking things....amongst others

my 2 yr old zr has had drivers side solenoidsx2. passengerx1. 3x a door panel popping off when it feels like it...

well. popped it into garage to see what awful 'clunk' from drivers door was, and a slight whirring noise from drivers side lock...i now need 2 new latches apparently...110+vat each side...total including labour is just short of 600
ive had a couple of years of one thing after another with this particular zr...looks lovely, but its gonna go...

mmm...but what car will i defect to?...... having only had rovers/ mg's for several years now, its gonna take me a while to see what i fancy

its still a bit sad tho.....600 quid??? arrrggghh

5,500 for part ex...could be worse...

Fix your door locks. This will cost you pennies, and while you're at it you can put new clips to hold your door card in place, which should be done each time the door card is removed because you strip the plastic of them when you pull the card off.

To fix you door locks, you need to replace a plastic pin that has snapped off with a round headed bolt and nut. I have pictures if you want. If you keep replacing the broken door lock with a new one then you will have the same problem, the plastic pin is small and weak and will break again.
