Unhappy Heater Fan Switch

I have a Rover 400 si auto. The switch for the heater fan just conked, position's 1 and 2 dont work, 3 and 4 do any body got any idea's. bobnic

If it is the same as the R25, drop the glove box down completely, and take a look on the big black plastic box.

On this box there will be a unscrewable plate with some wires coming out of it, unscrew this, and you will see some curly spring shaped wires. One or all of these will have broken, either get another from ebay or solder them back together.

in the howto section heater resistor pack mod thingy-not expensive though I havnt had the misfortune to have to do it yet

Done mine a few months back. Bought some new resistors from 'Technozen' for 3 and soldered them in place of the old ones and they work fantastic. Best 3 i've ever spent, easiest mod ever. Follow the How to... and you won't go wrong.
