Piston Hole - new engine suppliers?

Hey,

Can anyone recommend a place that ships second-hand rover engines in a crate? They are a rarity in my area so scrappies won't have them.

I have major destruction of the elastomer, water jackets filled with oil yet no emulsified coolant.

Hole in center of number 4 piston.

No sunk liners or warped head.

Don't suppose fitting a piston on its own is feasible?

Shouldn't be any problems replacing the piston but might be worth looking on discount mg rover parts they had really good deals pistons etc while back. Why has cylinder 4 failed tho been running lean etc

I was just thinking the fact that piston 1 had 30 psi compression until I added oil bringing it up to 90 psi might mean damage is more extensive and the attempt would not be successful.

Some time ago I had to add oil to all cylinders to free compression ring and get car to start.

The other thing I don't understand is why all four spark plugs worked loose?

Crack in piston 4 probably due to coolant in cylinder. HG major failure of elastomers, more than 50%.

Crate engine suppliers anyone?

A failed HG would lose compression. What's the mileage?

In your circumstances I'd probably do the same and lift in an engine, but get it from a scrappy so I could have a good look at it first. No clue where you are, so people will find it difficult to advise (assume overseas if scrappies don't have k's)? Suppliers are on eBay, even fully reconditioned, depending on how much you want to pay.
