When I read the codes the fan was constantly kicking in and out so I read the live data which was fluctuating at around 130', the car didn't smell hot but we didn't lift the bonnet.

I am not familiar with the diesel but all other live data looked ok.

My guess was a failed coolant temp sensor.

I didn't clear the codes as we wouldn't have an opportunity to re-read them, it was more so Chris had a starting point for investigating his intermittent running problem.

Of the two temperature sensors the blue one will be for the gauge, the one for the ECU is probably blue or brown.

So it turns out 3 of the fault codes are all linked. 2 disappeared when cleared and have not come back.

The fan, air con and acceleration/power problems are all linked.

The mechanic tested all the sensors. All work fine, so he opened up the main wiring loom. No obvious signs of damage. But when the wires were disturbed, the aircon began to work. Then fan didn't cut in either. But then after a while the 3 codes and problems returned. Fiddle with the wires and problems disappear again. Very confused as to possible cause

P.s. They think the accelerating problem like hiccups, is cause when the fans cut in. As they draws so much power. I did notice it only happened when the fans were on (which is almost all of the time)

If moving the wiring loom clears the problem then there is a problem with the loom.

Yeah that is what I was thinking. At least all the sensors are working. Will see what they say (had the car a week now) kind of need to back soon. Are looms available?

The MIL will only come on with a fault directly affecting the emissions.
