ZS Stainless Brake Hose upgrade.

Just after a little help with upgrading the OE rubber brake hoses on my 2005 mark 2 ZS to a set of HEL stainless hoses I bought from MG Mania Ltd.

The OE hoses have 3 brackets which bolt to the hub carrier. The HEL hoses came with 1 plastic fitting which is not fixed to the hose and can slide the length of the hose.

What`s the solution to this lack of fittings? Are there brackets which can be bought? Do you remove the brackets from the old hoses and mackle them to fit the new hose? Is it a complete design and fabricate a set for yourself job?

I`ve stripped all the calipers and rebuilt them with new components, fitted new EBC Greenstuff pads and done a complete change of fluid but am now at the stand, stare and scratch head stage with the hoses.

Appreciate any input please.

As you have found HEL brake hoses as supplied do not correctly fit the vehicle & therefore in my opinion they are not fit for purpose. After my experience with HEL as a company I will never purchase anything from them again.

Unfortunately I suspect that everyone else's SS hoses will similarly not fit correctly & will require some bodging to secure them - which I do not regard as acceptable for brake hoses.

I fitted them on the front without any problems and they have worked great for years but the rears I didn't fit as they were not correct in my opinion. Goodridge hoses are better always fitted them on my motorcycles, perfect fit everytime.

Goodridge do a plastic fitting, for some reason they list them as for a Honda, I found them by ring up but don't ask me who I rang, it was a while ago.

The HEL hoses seemed sweet!

I`ll have a hunt around on the Goodridge site and see if I can find the mysterious Honda fittings.

Thanks everyone for your help.
