i suppose the reason lates and rob drinkwater didnt get posted here earlier is that without a doubt members who read/study the forum take them for granted , the level of service they offer is without a doubt platinum. aint it funny that you could live very near both of them yet be unaware of the service they offer.
WELL I WILL TELL YOU THIS BOY [rab c nesbitt] if i lived near em they would bar me for camping outside their house [not camp in that way ] flyer.

Glad you made it clear that is was not camping in the Frankie Howerd sense of the word.

Also, thanks for the praise, most appreciated.

Regards, Rob.

No, no, no, my box is strictly my own, not any one elses.

Anyway, I shall be passing through maidenhead tonight!

Regards, Rob.

Well I've had mine serviced and mot'd today by SMC in Slough and they did an acceptable job.

I wouldn't recommend them as they're expensive and it means having to go into Slough (dreadful smelly town). They're now a Ford dealership however they had more MGR's being serviced than blue ovals and they still have the big MGR badged totems on the entrance rather than Ford.

The car passed it's maiden mot no problem and they said my car is in very good health, condition with no forseeable future problems - I must be very lucky as I've never had an mot failure in 17yrs of motoring or maybe I just look after my motors.

There aren't enough virgins left around here to pass through maidenhead every night, sometimes it has to be Slough.

Thanks for all the recent contributions, folks!

We've now got three (count 'em!) new categories for Australia, Belgium, and France! Nice to see more international MG-R garages appearing.

The list for the UK is also really starting to take shape, with our first garage in NE England...

But we still need more from the rest of Scotland, Wales and Ireland!!

Im up in north scotland (inverness) and the reason no one has put any garages up as there is none you would recommend up here. They are all butchers and drunks. The sad thing is the local x-part are the worst. They just dismiss that MG even exists and should be made to take their MG sign down. Just last week i was talking to a lad i know well and he had paid 235 each side for rear calipers on his mondeo as the garage told him it was seized. He had the old ones in the boot. The idiot in the garage was only trying to push the piston in when they were screw ins. Thats what you are up against. Im dreading trying to find someone that can change my cam belts next year.

Your best bet would be to book a couple of days holiday around Coventry and while there get Lates to do it while you wait. You will not be disappointed and what you save on other garages doing it would pay for the holiday.
