Does my car have a DMF?

Hi there, pricing up a clutch replacement at the moment. I am getting confilcting information as regards whether the car (2001 MGZT 2.5V6) has a DMF. Obviously it makes a huge difference in the price of the bits. Could anyone illuminate please? Apparently Autdata insists that it DOES have one, Rimmers and a local Auto Factors I trust say no it doen't. Help!!

All models with a manual gearbox are fitted with a DMF. However, replacing it with the clutch isn't an automatic step. There are tests set down by the manufacturer (LUK) that can determine whether the flywheel should be removed. This involves measuring the amount of periferal play in the springs.

According to robdrinkwater: 'The maximum permitted movement is 30mm of rotational movement at the edge of the flywheel, using good hand pressure against the springs.
There should also be no more than 1mm of lateral movement at the edge.'

Only when the mechanic gains access to the DMF can it be determined if a replacement is necessary.

Some LUK info here:
