select the option to syncronise DDE /DME with EWS.

If you do it will result in your car being unable to start, with no means of recourse using this software..........

(Found on another forum.) Is this warning relevant?
Did you read information at TOAF web page, where you can download Program?

"
We would like to inform that you can download the newest version of TOAF. It contains important fixes which you reported to us during last two weeks.
Most important of them: EWS-DDE Sync, adding remotes, and automatic backup feature for every module, also including fixed files for LIVE DATA...
We are waiting for next reports about bugs and sugestions what should we change or add to TOAF.

That's great news!
I know Jakg already suggested being able to enlarge the window but I encountered the opposite.
Could be all the people that are experiencing difficulties having never seen it before don't know that the "Connect" button is out of reach.

Had another play today and good news - the gremlins must be on holiday, as I was able to connect to the engine ecu and the module's VIN etc was now displayed.

Not only that but my old serial port RS232 Ediabas cable worked, the same one I tried to use several times earlier while waiting for the arrival of the VAG one.

Very happy, noticed that you can even test the VIS motors, which I did but also wish I understood those pesky gremlins better.

Regards

ps both my leads have pins 7 & 8 connected

Vitesse, maybe your obd socket need some tweaks with connectors?

Muggerbee , yes probably pins are not connected.
What engine?

For a 2 or 3 days will be available next ver. With some fixings. Like better engine ecu identification (2.0 v6 mostly) and will be fixed IKE coding tab...

Thanks longer86 could be the socket I suppose, I'll have a good look when the weather gets warmer.

Curious - what does TOAF stand for / mean?

New version, how much better can it be!

T4 Omitec Alternative Free, got it thanks. Was wondering as I saw some “fun” being made of the TOAF name on the other forum, you know the one where they end up fighting as they are doing at the moment and then the thread gets either locked or deleted. Much more comfortable here.

It’s actually Swedish bonfire night tomorrow, the local beer isn't too bad but their sausages are tasteless.

Regards

is it possible to have you head lights turn on when you unlock the car? not sure what you can make the software do.

I have done this using relays but my mum would like it on her zt?

But had my first use of the software today and have to say I am impressed. a lot of hard work.

I'm just glad that this site has foresight with TOAF, It's a haven of knowledge to read about other peoples experiences without the infighting on another sight. thank you to all to share their wisdom.

Don't think so, I've only seen the reverse - i.e. what lights stay on when you lock it.

In a moment of what if !!! I wonder if you did one of those firmware updates on the 2 din radios that can turn your 2 din into a computer, if TOAF was loaded in to the 2 din via the sd card port (runs on Wince 5 or 6) you could have all your diagnostics within the car !!!

Friend using tablet with win 10.

Some of guys at our forum using built in nexus7 as a multimedia station, but it have android so TOAF doesn't work. But this will be very comfortable to us... Just think about app which is optimized to change settings or test injectors during drive via 2din
