Christoper,
I've got a club se with no trip computer, apart from the new instrument pack and stalk did you have to buy anything else? Where does the trip computer live?
Cheers
Mark

The details are mentioned on the previous page of the thread: the indicator stalk was 140+ and the instrument pack 350+... gulp :o

Not sure whether the prices Chris mentions are inclusive of VAT either.

Blue instrument illumination will be cool John Let us know how you get on. BTW - are you changing the clock? There's a separate part number for the clock with blue illumination.

Hi,
When you fit this any chance of a "how to guide" post with pictures, I seriously want to do this. After you've put it in do you need to go to the dealer to have it set up etc?

Cheers

Hi John,
Just checked with Rimmer Bros, gave them my VIN and they quoted 473 + VAT. My car is a Club SE '03 plate. I gave them the part No. you posted and they said about 250 + VAT.

Your car is a ZT do you know if this would fit in my Club SE, would it look OK, different style dashes and all?

He said that the ZT parts seem to be much cheaper than the R75 ones listed, whats that all about?

Mark

The prices of these new seem to be all over the place, I've tried 3 separate sources now and they're all between 473-500 + VAT for the part listed when using the VIN No. as a starting point.

A chap at Paramount (ex Rover dealer) said that there were about 7 different types with trip computer ranging from about 250 onwards.

He also said that earlier ones seemed to be superceded to a later type (the one quoted to me at around 500) which have an amber display light. The post face lift one with a white display light was priced at 246 + VAT!. Whats the difference apart from the display light, smells bad to me.

I'm totally confused and bewildered. Where did you chaps source yours from and did you have the same hassle?

Mark

sorry mines inc the dealer fitting , im not sure if you can do it your self , so i jsut booked into dealer , the dash comes out after taking 3 screws out

the deler told me that the later amber ones , zt included seemed to have issues with the backlights , how true this i i dont know , but its od for this dealer to turn down extra cash is all i wil say,the amber dash for the same spec car is 550 !!!!!! i was in the parts department so i know that i got it at the price the "offical" parts computer said

i wont be able to do a how to guide because all it will read is , get in car drive to dealer , part with cash after drinking all coffee in building , then drive home lol

ill let you know how it goes but its not getting done till 28th

with regards the back light the zt preface lift is white , post face lift a deep blue, there was an amber option but mega bucks
odd you should say the zt's were cheaper they "seemed" about the same when i loked !

DONT FORGET YOU NEED THE STALK TOO

Should be possible - especially if the car in question is at a non-specialist breakers. You might need to salvage it yourself, but it seems unlikely that they'll appreciate the stalk's "new" value

conclusion straight awy is in the dusk, the blue is far more readable and actually does light up compared to the white , the blue might be a bit bright for some in the dark but looks good and you have a dimmer

also withthe white on the speedo is seems to dim after the km/h reading not show on the pic for some reson , where the blue is far more consistant

Now that is very very COOL

Where did you source the stalk from in the end?

This thread could end up costing me yet more money...
