Good morning. Bought a 04 TF Spark with 5 wheels, 4 silver 1 black (the spare). Why they did this only God (and probably somebody on the forum) knows.

Was thinking of repainting the black one silver and then I could use the very badly kerbed silver one as the spare wheel. However, the black one seems to have a coating on it, possibly plastic (although it feels like metal). I don't want to spray it with primer to then find that it needs special treatment.

Can anybody advise?

Thanks for the reply.

Having sanded all of the wheels it was obvious that there is a plastic coating on the black wheel. All 4 good wheels, including the black one, have been primed and painted with the same materials. It is only a couple of weeks since this has been done, but there is no obvious discolouration of the 'black' wheel or any other adverse effect.
