Aerial snapped off! Electric version??

I have just spent 3k on double glazing my house and I must say as sad as it is that it is money very well spent. That is until I woke up this morning and found that the noise reduction effect of the new glazing means that I cannot hear some toerag attacking my car!

result, one snapped aerial.

I have already ordered another one but was just wondering if anyone had actually managed to fit an electric one yet? I have done a search and the topic does not seem to have been addressed since 2004.

Any updates??

I don’t know anyone who has fitted an electric aerial, I think it must be something to do with the angle of dangle.

electrical aerial cannot be fitted due to lack of space in the wing below to accomodate the folded up bits.

I've got an 50kv electric aerial fitted to my F but the l'il toe rags haven't come back yet. having said that I have seen an increase in punk hairstyles round my neck of the woods, so maybe it's working

On a serious note, i'm sure i've seen somewhere an electric aerial which used a flexible extension so you could mount the motor elsewhere - might have been for a jag or such like? Racking my brains now, and not getting very far due to senile dementia

Would this work?

Looks like the motor sits away from the mast I think?

possibly, what i was talking about in relation to electric aerials is when they collapse fully into bodywork. the angle of the aerial and the wing of the mgf means there isnt much depth for teh aerial to collapse into, so it needs to either be partly above the bodywork like that version or collapse into many small tubes.
