It is easy if it is OEM one. You push A/C button and operate round switch of blower to position you desire. A/C button will litand cold air should blow, unless air con is empty of gas.
Turn the fan on.
Push the snow-flake button in the lower left region of the console.
At idle you should see the tacho jump about 400 rpm briefly to compensate for the anticipated load of the AC compressor.
You may also be able to hear the operation of the AC relay. If you can hear the operation of the relay, it generally confirms that there is some refrigerant in circuit. If you don't hear the relay, it could mean there is no refrigerant or it may be that you simply didn't hear it.
Well I have had the car running today and pressed the "Snowflake"but nothing happened, by that I mean the light on the switch did not come on so will need to investigate a little further.
Car AC systems cannot normally run backwards. The valves in the compressor only work one way.
I think reference was made to the fact that the AC system will dry the incoming air as well as cool it, therefore the air going into the heater will be dry and out to the screen will be hot, dry air, perfect for demisting.
