hi, I would apreciate some advice,
Changed the dashboard lights a couple of weeks ago, the ones over the speedo/rev counter , changed them to red, have now decided that I do not like them too red ,think I will not see the red warning lights should they come on so swaped them back and now they do not work. everything else works ie. other clocks ,no fuses blown even putting back the red ones they still do not light up so what have I done wrong? the more I stare at it the less I see,so am I missing something? anybody got an idea whats wrong.
thanks in anticipation.
mine are red in fact every light in my car is red!
Have you checked to make sure you've a) put the bulbs in the right way round? (cos they only work one way) & b) made sure the dimmer switch is not on lowest setting?
hi marcus, hang on, I have unplugged the dimmer switch and mirror as well I'm changing the cowl for a silver sprayed one, do you think thats it? it needs the dimmer switch to be connected, DOh! what a plonker, will now go to the garage and try. thanks.
ps. sorry no pics of the red dash, one thing though, the dash was way too dark with the red bulbs imo ,and they were the led ones, thats why I wanted to change back.
and........ we're sorted dimmer switch it was!!! who knew it had to be that?
well marcus you did for one! cheers.
Loaky, the're yours, if you pm me with your address I will send you the red ones to try and see what you think.
lol. No worries, i knew it would be that, cos when i did mine i forgot to plug my switch bk in too. * rolls eyes *
Yes if you take the yellow filament out of the top of the instrument cowl it is alot brighter n not quite so pink. ( also did the cowling silver, pics up the colour well and brightens up the whole entire car )
yes, yellow filter was taken out but still I felt the red lights were too dark for me, I've got red lights in the rear view mirror which make the interior look really good , red light reflecting off the chrome heater knobs/roof catches/ dial surrounds / ash tray and all the other bits, just imo red dash lights was a step too far, now have white led's in ( no yellow filter) which gives the interior a nice contrast and I can see my dials and more importantly the warning lights.
Thanks again for the LED's they arrived this morning! Just managed to nail them in, they do look a bit dim as you say, then again it is daylight!
I'll have a better look tonight when it's dark.
Can't believe how difficult that mirror connector is to get out! :indiff:
could u guys post some picx of the interiors . thinking of changing mine. so maybe some ideas.cheers:nopics:
