finally...gone and bought one.

Well, after a fair amount of looking, and finding one's that caught my eye, being snapped up,i chanced upon one in west wales.I was angling for a 1.8,but a low mileage (51,000) 1.6 54 plate popped up,and after a test drive, and a bit of a haggle, with the price,i bought it today. The car has been stood,in a farm barn, then on the seller's drive for month's,un-used.This led to the clutch release arm being stiff, but besides this,it drove well, with tight handling, and the engine pulling well.It took me a while to work out the folding roof, but have the knack of it now. After buying a car, there is always a period of finding the faults/or lack of them,if you are lucky.I have found two,one a snapped bonnet release cable(which was ok before i bought the car,as i looked in there) and a more involved rust problem, seen while i sprayed oil onto the release arm pivot.I have not taken a pic yet,but the rear and front subframes have surface rust, due to standing,i would think.A mounting on the front of the rear subframe bolted to the body next to the back inner sill area ,is ready to go i think. Are they actually a replaceable mounting?or is this more involved? and how do i go about releasing the front bonnet with a snapped cable? This is the car,1.6 sunstorm, with headgasket done, new belts and pump.Taken with my phone at the seller's home,so you will have to turn it on your pc's,but you can see what it is.

Rotated computer and agree, looks good. There is a nice group down your way, South Wales MG, with a few runs and meets coming up if you want to meet up with some other owners.

Will PM you bonnet info as people don't tend to post it out in the open.

Ah yes,of course,i did not think of that side of it.
My wife is showing too much interest in the car also, something she has never done to a car before, and a bit of a worry lol.I am lucky as in my little town,i am the only one with a TF,and has had lots of looks, they are rare here. There will be lots of niggles,i don't doubt,as the car has'nt been used, and it will be a daily driver, wind, rain or shine.Questions will come,so be prepared.I have been lurking around here for a while, and clocked some members are close, and yes, will be in touch.

Looks more like a 135 with the alcantara seats and colour coded wing mirrors.

If it's a 115,it's definitely had interior upgrades.

And wheels too.
