I finally bought some!

Finally managed to buy some AP Calipers for 140 inc postage.
Very pleased as I have been after some for a while!
Can't wait to fit them with the bigger discs I bought a while back

Since we are talking about the brakes from AP Racing ... Has anyone had the idea, tried, or asked if these calipers can be mounted on the rear wheels?

I cant see why not, apart from the fact theres no need. The standard rear set up with front ap's are sufficient enough. Also, would the brake balance need to be changed? Would look a bit nuts though.

there'd be a slight problem with the hand brake mechanism for a start, apart from them over braking the rear wheels.

I belive so, but I read somewhere that with the original rear brakes and the AP Racing in the front makes the opposite effect, ie the front wheels tend to block more often. Tell me what your experience please.

the TF160 out of the factory has AP calipers front and bog std calipers rear, I find the balance pretty much near perfect for my style of driving, which is, shall we say, on the plus side of exuberant.

This is true on mine also, great balance even in the wet. If the brakes were the same all round the rear would lock up and side drift under heavy breaking. The rear breaks are there to prevent forward throw i.e. maintain a more level vehicle stance but apply forward down pressure on the tyres for better grip. As bikers will know a 60/40 or 70/30 front rear break distribution in the dry is about right to prevent rear drift or going over the handle bars in heavy breaking (which I have done before now )
