Hey all, new to this site and here for advice please! I have a orange TF LE500 and recently the drivers side window will not work! When I press the switch nothing happens and there's no sound from the window mech motor at all! Luckily it's stuck in the up position! Any ideas what's gone wrong with it? Your help will be much appreciated.
In later MGR-era TFs the window is controlled by a relay with the Pektron BCU that is known to fail. Chances are the NAC TFs use the same system, so that is where my finger would point if the fuses are OK.
Thanks for the advice! Yeah I have checked the fuses and they are both fine! Just the drivers side is ok!
If it's the ecu! Can these be fixed or would it need replacing?
Whilst it's a good bet the fault may well be in the BCU, it's worth swapping the switches to prove them OK. A window lift motor fail is also possible but that needs the door card off to check.
Can you hear the click of the relay when you push the drivers window switch up? Obviously the window will not move but it is a way of checking the switch. Try it down as well. if you hear a click then it is not the relay. The sound will come from behind the centre console.
My drivers window relay went after a few years. I could hear the window trying to go up. It did not work going down and I could not hear the relay.
The relay is not difficult to replace - just a little daunting.
All sorted, it was one the realys causing the fault, a bit tricky trying to desolder the broken one off but managed to get there in the end and all is good for now (waiting for the other relays to fail.
