Poor performance

After I leave my 98 F out in the rain for a prolonged period e.g the recent 2 days of torrential Bank Holiday downpour, it affects the performance as if its 'holding back' or missing'

Ive had to replace the HT leads twice in 2 years!!

Is there a way to prevent or cure this? Am aware that putting it in the garage is a solution, although not always an option.

Many thanks
