Squeaky Front Suspension

Hi Everyone,

My MGF sounds like an old spring mattress and the squeaky noise seems to be coming from the front offside so I assume its something to do with the suspension.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?

Garages
When were the suspension arms last pumped with grease?

You need a good quality grease gun full of LM grease, locate and clean the nipple the top suspension arm, connect the gun to the niple and pump away until the grease starts to come out of the sides of the arm. This may or may not help but it's a good starting point and will only beneficial.

Most likely one of the rubber bushes running dry. Lubricate them with some very thin oil, (or dare I suggest WD) then when its sorted, seal it in with something thicker and more durable.

Sounds ok now with greasing up the suspension arm will repeat it in a couple of weeks to take care of any air pockets.

Many thanks for the good advice to all.

Hi, I had the same kinda problem - v bad squeaking from the front off-side! Tried the grease-gun trick, even sprayed everything in the wheelarch (minus the disc and caliper!) daily for three weeks....nothing. In the end had to relent and ask a local garage to sort it. They stripped the suspension completly, regreased everything and volla - a lovely squeak-free car! Honestly, worth every penny!
