rover 416 immobiliser problem

hi i have a rover 416i n reg.today i disconnected battery and immobiliser has dis armed i have put the code in via the key and lock eg,,,turn to lock then turn left x amount of times then turn right x amount of times ...etc,,as it says in hand book but still i have no joy i go to start the car up and it just makes a sound like the lights have been left on it wont even try to turn over also the led light on doors stays solid on when door is open . i have tried jump starting it but this makes the alarm sound it also makes like a machine gun sound sometimes after in putting the code/????. please if anyone knows how to solve this problem please reply... p.s i have no key fob only keys but have all security codes i cannot understand why it is doing this...

either you don't have the right code or you're not entering it correctly.

look at the little red light on the door when you open the door. if it stays on then the immobilizer is ON.

the directions on how to input the code stated in the manual are incomplete, do the following :

1. make sure all the windows, doors, bonnet and boot are shut tight.
2. lock your car with the key then remove the key, wait till the red light blinks at a slow rate.
3. insert the key and start inputing the code starting by the right direction.
4. remove the key and open the door. if the red light is on, shut the door and start all over again. if there's no red light then you disabled the immoblizer and can now start the car.
