Hard to find here.. had to order 12 liters (minimum order) trough a special dealer who had Texaco oils. Cost me €11.50 per ltr.

How much is the MTF94 in the UK as comparison?
(No, i wont order from the UK due to weight.. but would like to know).

At least i will have a supply of gearbox oil for some time ;)

I have bought MTF94 a couple of times here in Denmark. Land Rover dealer was of no use, so I got it direcly from the oil company which sells Texaco products. First time I was lucky they had some samples I could buy. But last time, about a year ago (like Ulmenkott) I had to buy a box of 12 x 1 ltr. bottles. Price was 1,028 DKK - about £115 at current exchange rate.

The 'early' bottles said 'Rover MTF 94' but the newer ones only says 'MTF 94' on the label.

Many thanks for the information and pictures Per E. :)

£8.39 / €10 for a 1L bottle delivered from eurocarparts
I've always wondered if that Carlube and Morris MTF is genuine or just generic 75w80 in MTF/MTF94 branded containers.

And while im at it ;)
Made this funnel thingy after a few attempts and foul words to get the stuff into the gearbox with just a straight tube attached...

Took a piece of wire to make a bend on the tube.

Put together and you'll have a gearbox filler funnel =)

I'm sure similar has been done thousends of times before but i was kinda proud how well it worked =)

Well done Joakim. :) Though I have to say it is a little bit over-engineered, my filler rig is more or less the same as MGJohn's.

P.S. Think I'll try my local Stratstone Land Rover outlet for the next lot I buy. Thanks for the tip Ray_S ..

No worries, my local LR dealer is also a Stratstone, they are quite useful when I need some good quality parts and genuine fluids.

Any thoughts / benefits re. http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/mtf.aspx
(I've noticed some folk are apparently using this in PG1) or could it be detrimental in some way ?

Our American friends rate this stuff in Honda boxes even those equipped with a helical differential, though I am sure they would use cooking oil if they thought it would work and save a buck as they say.

I recently paid £20 UKPounds for 2.5 Litres of MTF 94.

Previously, I bought some MTF94 about two years ago ~ got several 2.5 litre Bottles and paid about £17.50p for each bottle. Prices have gone up since then.

This is what the XPart MG-R bottles look like. Identical to the Unipart bottles but with different labellings .... :~

The other end of the garden hose off cut is pushed into the filler hole :~

Reading under APPLICATION the actually states "Not for use in engines, hypoid rear axles, limited-slip or wet clutch applications."

So not for use with a TorSen limited slip diff then i guess.
