I am in need of two rear tyres for my TF, I have tried every where but no-one can get them. One place said maybe have some in April. I have emailed Goodyear but had no reply yet!
Anybody know what is going on, have they stopped producing these tyres for good?
They haven;t stopped production, but they are made in batches. Once a batch runs out, you have to wait for the next batch to be produced to get some. Hopefully GY will be able to tell you if there is stock anywhere and if not, how long you will have to wait till the next batch is available.
It would appear there are also supply problems with the Toyo T1-R which several people have fitted as an alternative to the GSD-2, so if your in desperate need for new rears I would fit a pair of Dunlop SP9000's which I have tried and found to be just as good as the GSD-2 but without the issues of the GSD-3
kwik fit normally seem to have a big stockage in everytime ive been in they have said we have some ! give them ago if u buy a set they offered me adiscount good luck
Still no reply to my email, I am thing about visiting 'Goodyear' tomorrow afternoon.
Does anyone know where it said that MG/Goodyear recommend only using GS/D2's on MGTF's?
That sounds cheap; Im currently looking for ONE Goodyear Eagle F1 215/40 ZR16 tyre and have been quoted £145-£150 by two big chains in the cheltenham area. Where was the above done at?!
30K now on the fronts - getting a little slippery now (noticed it more since i replaced the rears) - just age related i think, they've started to go 'off the boil' after 5 years.
Still the best tyres i've had on SF, 2 new Marangonis on my shopping list.
turns out that I need 2 new rear tyres and the bloke at tyreland quoted me 80 quid per tyre fitted.
shame that I only went in to have my exhaust fitted....... hadn't planned on new tyres
