I think they must be the original Rover ones, because they are as soft as butter. Everyone of them has been damaged by ham-fisted various previous onwers / garages.
It's now got to the point of not being able to get some of them undone - any suggestions on how to get them off would be greatly received!
I had this problem... Easiest solution i found was just to get a socket and belt it onto the nut.. Its quite soft so goes on quite easily and just replace with standard nuts..
I ended up just hammering a socket onto the nut very hard, the nut was ruined but at least it came off. Next thing you have to do is get the nut out of the socket again

I still have the original ones but with the locking nut, one of the little mouldings inside the nut that locates onto the nut fixed the the hub has broken off so I have not tightened them too much - getting new ones this week.
Bringing this to the fore again, me and my Dad misplaced the locking key for the coupe and did the exact same thing. Smacked on a socket and voila off they came. Put standard ones on for the time being and will have the mcgard set off the 25 on as soon as I finish getting my tyres fitted today. What a pullava!
Had the same prob, and as mentioned above 18mm socket and hammer did the trick, and found some replacement locking at halfords for £19.99 (think the make was rip speed)
