I just want to buy new set of tyres for my 2000 MGF (VVC)
I have 16'' rims on my F.
I searched a bit and learned that GY F1 GS-D2 and Toyo T-1R Proxes are good choices. However, in my country (TURKEY) tyre dealers can not supply GS-D2 (I can find just for front). They offered me GS-D3.
What do u think when u compare D2 and D3? Which one can be fitted my 2000 F and which one is better?
I confused a bit, the price of toyo is cheaper than GS-D3 and GS-D2 (app. 20 pound for each tyre, totaly 80). What can u say about all 3 tyres when you also consider price?

MY2000 F VVCs should have the same size tyres all round (215/40 ZR16s), and the best place to look for advice on tyres at the moment is Rob Bell's site

Not at all, the Trophy has the same suspension as a 'normal' F just harder. The tyre size was chosen for a better handling balance over the previous 215 all round and was why Trophy tyre sizes were used for the TF.

Just to throw this into chaos, for some fappin reason MG recomended 215/45 R16 all round for the 16x7 Cup alloys on the MK1's without "trophy" suspension. So maybe thats the route to go. Mine certainly grips like a kitty on a curtain.
I'd go toyo over GSD3 but only cuz of the documented problems, and the absence of GSD2's.
