Hi Mate, You do know you aint gonna be able to change it in situ, as its a ***** and its basically wedged in one end is in behind the waterpump, and the othe end is into the coolant rail pipe.

What I would do if I was you would be to jack your car up, get it on stands etc. Slide underneath so your looking up around by the bulk head, loosen all the coolant rail, remove the bolt which goes through to hold the disptick and goes through the top plastic bit of the thermostat, as it holds both. As you will need to manouvre the whole lot to the left away from the water pump, then twist and turn and it will pop out.

By the way. I would make sure youve drained your coolant, or prepare to get wet, very wet lol

Unbolt the bolts that hold that metal pipe in place, as you will need to move this, as the thermostat cant be opened and popped, been there tried it ages ago lol, its wedged in both ends. You have to get that dipstick locator bolt out aswell as its holding the thermostat in place. As soon as you got some movement on it you can pop it out. Its tricky at first but when you do it you will realise whats holding what, etc.
