Little point talking now about the rights or wrongs, i think 6,500 people are about to lose their jobs. Add to that another 25,000 or so i factor in Pug running down Ryton and Jag @ Browns lane and i think things are not very funny at all.

I can't imagine WHY people think Labour are great at running the land? I mean we already lost 1 million manufactoring jobs and now this. All Labour did was stick to Tory spending plans. They also raied the pensions and got everyone to spend their savings.

People forget about being carful with cash, we into another 80's style boom, they went off the deep end...."Changing Rooms" bul**** etc.

well, thats that. So MG well i was thinking BMW own the rights, ........................a mini based sports/spider type car from Oxford?
Longbridge.....unless we have a deal by Monday morning......i think it gone :(

To those who post here from MGR i am very sorry, i hope it does come good but if not please understand that i hope things work out for you and your familys.
Cheers
Mike

I think the best that we can hope for is that the engineers and some of the new designs resurface after the dust settles, and that any resulting cars are produced in the UK.

My fear is that any IP that is worth having will go to the highest bidder, and is unlikely to stay in the UK.

As for the actual assembly and manufacturing jobs, I can't see many of the workers finding suitable employment. I really feel for them.
