Are the grease gun type hydragas pumps on eBay any.good ?

Ok - it ain't quick! But, it does work! Great for maintaining the height of your F :)

At £50 - I bought one (plus £10 for fluid) and have done 4 top ups (including a rover 100 on its bump stops). Works fine for the home mechanic, but obviously not in the same league as the liquid levers series of pumps.

I've a homemade one here, same thing as the eBay ones because it's just a very slightly modified grease gun. It pumps up my car quickly (and mine was near riding on the bump stops when I bought it) and it has done a few others with no complaints. The only problem is that there is no vacuum function like on the liquid levers and the other "proper" pumps which is something you need if you go to individualise the units or fit new units because it makes sure the system is free of air. However you don't need the vacuum function when you're just topping the system up.

If it's just for maintaining the ride height then go for it as they're very handy to have. If you're planning on doing some more serious work then you'd be better off getting a proper pump, you'll pay a good bit more for one though.

I've recently bought a pump from the main eBay seller and works beautifully.
I've ordered the low-loss version plus an adapter for a vacuum pump (that I have yet to try)

I don't find the pumping time to be particularly long. In fact, I've been able to bring a severely low car to the correct trim height in a few minutes of pumping.

Cheers

The Liquid Levers with vacuum are about £500 and without vacuum about £300.
The cheapo variety at around £50 are good value in comparison if you just want to maintain suspension height ,say, once a year. Now that I have two of these cars to maintain I have found mine to be a good investment as the high street garages charge about £56 a time, inc VAT, so a big win for me.
As they say, You takes yer choice.

Cheers
