Free car to good home

I'm Steve in new here and to forums so not really sure of the rules, so if I've broken any or not done things the right way I apologise, but thought I'd try I have a 214 sei 5door wedge I've had for 11 years only 2nd owner, and it's been pretty well looked after by me since about 27000 miles it's at about 110000 now but suffered a catastrophic HGF just before Christmas, and basically I thought I'd see if anyone on here would like to take it off my hands either to break or repair, full details/pictures if any ones interested, brand new front brake pads, it has maybe 10 months mot left on it comes with a few spares including a new radiator and loads of paperwork, I'm not gonna need I'm in Norwich, Norfolk and my number is 07917224949 email is steve.hollington at hotmail.com if you want any further information, if no takers unfortunately it's gonna get scrapped just seems a waste so hence why I'm here

Hi Steve, shame about the car, hopefully someone will benefit from your generous offer and save it from destruction

You need to upload to photobucket or the like, best to search the How to's to discover how to do it.

Another site is imgur.com

Photobucket.com is the similar site like imgur.com for hosting images.

Or you can send pictures to me and I can post them for you (roverlike@net.hr)?

It'd be a great shame if it was scrapped just because of HGF. The car looks to be in excellent condition for it's age. Have you considered the mobile mechs? I think a non-vvc head gasket/cambelt/water-pump is only around £300 fitted, plus fuel.

That certainly looks in very good cosmetic condition for a car approaching 22 years old. Well worth repairing for an enthusiast (even if it needs a replacement engine). I would be surprised if you have to resort to scrapping it (scrappy won't wan't to pay anything if they have to fetch it, and probably only give a few pounds if you deliver it to them).

If you don't get any takers from the forums, I would stick it on Gumtree as spares or repair; somebody will surely take it?

I'd only just washed it for the pictures as couldn't really take any dirty it's in ok condition, but I really don't want to let anyone think it's in great condition, in my honest opinion it's probably 6 out of 10 but it's been my every day car since I got it about 10-11 years ago and I did try to look after it, washed and waxed it keep it clean inside and either repaired it myself or paid a garage too, it's only ever had castrol magnatec oil since I got it and I've serviced it, probably more often than recommend, it's got a clutch still under garentee and mot til mid/end November 2017 and comes with roof bars, spare front lights and indercatiors, a parcel shelf all ready cut with 6x9 speaker holes and a uncut one, a new radiator, box of spares including a coil, complete interior woodtrim, 2x ecu and 2x rover radios, front speakers are kenwoods they go with the car, new oil and fuel filters, it has a little wear to drivers seat bolster, a box of paperwork, including all mot's, receipts,a Haynes manual, everything worked so all lights and sunroof windows, as only done about 400 miles from last mot, new front brakes, and cat, even has an a matching front armrest I modified and fitted so matches to fit front seats , like I said that why it on here I would sooner it goes to a good home to be fixed or broken for parts than me get £40 from a scrappy ?

A very fine looking car. Glad it will go to a good home and continue to give many more years service.
