Talking Lets show off your R8's!

Hello guys,

i am aware there is a 'show us your cars' thread, but there is barely any pics of R8's on that thread, mostly bubble shape/MG's and i know from this 'R8 aka the wedge' section that there are alot of users here with well looked after R8 models.

So, i thought it would be nice for everyone to show off their pride and joy, also so others can get some inspiration on what to do with their cars styling wise.

Ill whack a pic of my new SEi up soon as my photobucket account has decided to finish resetting my password, i hope you all could join in!

Peace

Its a bog standard 214 cabriolet (16v SPI k series engine), no eleccy windows, no remote locking.

It certainly handles differently but i think thats because someone made a bad job of lowering it! Its on my list to sort, its not too bad just does'nt like lumps and bumps in the road. I'd guess in standard form its probably not that much difference (i might be able to tell you soon if i get the 216 cabby!)

I see, i wasnt sure if it was a 16v or 8v, My SEi has all the additional extras -smirks-

I was planning on lowering mine, because the car just looks TOO damn floaty between the wheel arches and the top of the wheels :S plus i want it to handle better!

Yes, please do keep me informed about your new 216

Very nice car, do you have any modding ideas for her? (just for gots sake dont go all boy racer and put on space shuttle looking body kits i hate it when people ruin these lovely coupes like that) Something subtle like lowering always enhances a cars looks

It was at longbridge I think.

That was before I put the original wheels back on and the front got painted (badly). Its the missus's car not mine. Mine has even more class (Its a maestro!)

Not sure if there are any clips of it on youtube though. At least I've not put any there!

I've got 17" mg zr straights or 5 spoke wheels planned and lowered 40mm like my mates 416 gti as it looks nice. Apart from that I've not really thought about anything else.

I'm just concentrating on getting it looking nice so far and getting it on the road and running properly.

I think I might have a problem doing that myself as it has the T top roof and I won't be able to take the glass sections out.

Do you have roof rust too?
you can still use vinyl to fit around the glass, the companies that sell the wrap can also fit it for you
