MOT tomorrow!

I've had both front and rear brakes off, cleaned, deglazed and rebuilt, checked all round the lights, wipers, screen, washers, topped up with super unleaded!, checked the fluids and air filter etc., waxoyled all the exposed rust prone areas, waterproof greased all the steel brake pipes (no rust showing on them) new tyres fitted for last test. It's only done about 1000 miles since its last MOT so we will see what happens!

Great feeling when all that work is acknowledged with a clean pass.
Thought the topping up of fuel might have been the death knell, glad it wasn't.
My MOT guy told me that the brake pipes are concealed, are yours exposed or are you just talking about the flexible connections? I was a bit concerned as, if you can't see them how do you know they are ok?

It's the bits that are exposed under the arches. They are coated in some kind of plastic but there are parts that are not covered at the ends (where the dreaded rust gets in!). A coating of waxoyl makes them easy to get off if ever you have to.

I also brush it on the backplates and exposed areas under the wheel arches. I take the plastic protection strips off the wing edges, waxoyl them and replace the protectors, giving an extra coat around the inner edges after the protectors are back on. The edges were mainly in tip top condition but I did have to derust and repaint a couple of 5p size areas that had been stone chipped.

All the flexi pipes were fine, with no perishing. The car has been mainly garaged so is in pretty fine fettle really.
