They are elegant, good looking cars those 600s. Some fine examples here. Shame about the Red 623 with the rear end damage.

Apparently ... in a parallel universe MGJohn drives .........A.......

B>>M>>W ....

Arrrrrggghhhhh......... ......

We've now parted company :-( and I was ok with that at first but I must admit to finding myself regretting letting her go, wonder if anyone on here got her, she was traded in for the wifes new car and the guy I traded it too said it went down country to a fella who'd had Rover 600s before.

And her replacement

My 623 GSI

Ok spent much of the afternoon cleaning the 623. It's going to need better treatment than I can manage. Years of poor cleaning have left many swirls. The polish I used does remove a few light marks but no where near enough to clean this paint up.

The boot lid is not only dented at the bottom left but has many scratches on the lid itself. Will see what the paint shop fellow thinks on it when I can get the car over there.

The rear bumper needs a repair and repaint like the front one. Yes the front one does have a split by the O/S fog light:-

Which needs repairing.

So this is a start.

Thank you it does not look bad from a little distance but there is some work to be put in to get it really decent.

The lower grill is pretty ropey to be honest and the oil cooler pipe behind it needs cleaning off and painting to remove the rust. I am thinking of fitting some stainless mesh in this lower grill.

That had been done by a previous owner to my old Si. Job was done so nicely I didn't realise it wasn't OEM for ages.

What aerial is fitted to your car ? It sits at a very jaunty angle, thought they were all perpendicular to the boot line.

Good question ................................... Just went out to look as I had not looked at that yet. It's some cheap manual one hence the angle is all wrong. I knew it needed replacing just didn't see how much or it.

Another item on the "to get" and "to do" list

Now I rather like the look of those stainless mesh grill treatment. Mine is showing it's age, chrome not the best and I was thinking about putting stainless mesh in the lower grill aperture so matching it with the main grill is a pleasing thought.

Must give this some more and serious thinking about!

We bought it like that..

But the joiner is a bit weird, its not a straight pipe its got a extra sort of ring around it as you can see and its got bolts sticking out also? As if you bolt it to a panel or something..

Does the job though! The hoses are ASH

Yeah, so are mine, but I just rotated them so you can't see the ASH logo.

Interesting no front plates!

Is this normal?

I suppose we are so used to having them in Europe.
