The best brake pads for Rover 600 I ever had are OEM ones. Stil have spare pair for replacement when time comes.

To be fair most pads are ok now they have brought in the regulation for them. Do you have the 262 or 282mm brakes? I've used EBC redstuffs and also their ultimax range (which is essentially OE type pads). Also used ferrodo standard ones and also used Apec for quite a while (as that was what my local motorfactor carried in stock). All have worked fine. Some last better than others and some are more resistant to fade than others.
